WellTeen® has been developed especially for young adults and teenagers aged 13-19 years and is a dynamic comprehensive combination of 25 nutrients, including green tea extract & cranberry extract.
Today’s young adults have more to live up to than ever before, with busy social lives, exams, studying and sports so is it any wonder they have an increased demand for nutrients!
For young adults ensuring a healthy diet is critical but sadly it is not always a priority in a hectic teenage lifestyle. It is recommended that in addition to the basic daily ideal of trying to eat a healthy, balanced diet, that teenagers safeguard their nutritional intake with an ideally balanced multivitamin and mineral supplement specific to their needs. An optimum nutritional intake during adolescence and young adulthood can help set the stage for lifelong health. For starters, teenage bodies need to have sufficient minerals and vitamins to ensure healthy development during their growth spurts. As teens undergo significant physical and biochemical changes in their bodies, the necessity for vitamins greatly increases. The teenage years are perhaps the most significant in terms of hormonal change, and of course emotional stress!
WellTeen® is an ideal, carefully balanced formula to help maintain vitality and wellness including vitamins B6 & B12 for normal energy release. As well as the insurance of a comprehensive source of daily vitamins and minerals, it includes CoQ10, L-Carnitine, Green Tea and Cranberry extract.
Today’s young adults have more to live up to than ever before, with busy social lives, exams, studying and sports. The WellTeen® formula includes folate, pantothenic acid, iron and vitamin C which contribute to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue.
WellTeen® includes zinc, iron and iodine which contribute to normal cognitive function, whilst pantothenic acid contributes to normal mental performance to help support concentration levels when learning. Iron also contributes to normal formation of red blood cells & haemoglobin and contributes to normal oxygen transport in the body to all cells and organs
A range of nutrients including zinc, selenium, iron, folate, vitamins B6 & B12 and vitamin D contribute to the normal function of the immune system. Recent research has also shown that optimum dietary levels of vitamin D3 may be higher than previously thought and WellTeen® provides an efficient level of 800IU (20mcg) of the preferred D3 form. Vitamin C also contributes to normal immune system function during and after intense physical exercise which is a key consideration for those involved in sport.
Health research shows that even a short period of very strict “dieting” during early teens can lead to low bone density, which causes weak bones in later life. Between 12-17 years of age, up to 90 percent of adult bone mass is laid down, so this is not a time to limit the intake of calcium or vitamin D which help to maintain normal bone health.
WellTeen® tablets include vitamin D and minerals such as magnesium and zinc which contribute to the maintenance of normal bone health. Vitamin D also helps the body with the absorption and utilisation of calcium from the diet.
Calcium is an essential mineral, however, it has not been included in the WellTeen® formula, as it is not possible to include the right amount in one tablet. Rather than including just a token amount of calcium, WellTeen® has been designed so that it can be taken alongside Vitabiotics Osteocare® which is available in tablet, chewable or liquid form.
As well as iron, vitamin B12 and folic acid also contribute to the formation of red blood cells and Government surveys have indicated that the diet of some teenagers may be low in certain nutrients including iron. This is especially true for young women as iron becomes even more vital when menstruation commences during puberty. WellTeen® is therefore an ideal way of helping to safeguard daily iron intake.
